At SFK our focus is to nurture an open, honest, fun, loving and creative environment.

Class Capacity

Kindergarten classes have a capacity of 15-18 children, while our nursery has a ratio of one teacher for every four children. This allows the teachers to pay particular attention to each child's needs.

 

Creative & Independent Thinking

SFK teachers support the children's self-efficacy and beliefs. Teachers encourage children to use their own initiative to become more independent thinkers. Children are also taught various activities e.g. children will be helped to dress themselves independently and taught good personal hygiene.

 

Individual Attention

We believe that all children develop at a different pace, so it is important that they receive personalized attention and support. We understand that building secure self-confidence takes place in the early years and therefore our experienced teachers encourage and support each child's development. The students are valued as individuals.

 

Play-based Teaching

Every child has a right to play and children learn most effectively when they are playing and enjoying themselves. At SFK we aim for balanced physical growth by providing a good mix of exercise and correct daily nutrition. Playing is an integral part in a child's physical, personal and social development. Our teaching is play-based and our daily schedule includes plenty of outdoor time which allows children the freedom to yell and run. They are encouraged to be more enthusiastic and energetic. This enables them to experience the world in which they live through sounds, textures, smells, and hands-on interaction. Outdoor play allows the children to exercise which help them gain good control of their bodies and enhances a healthy

self-esteem.

 

Caring for the environment

At SFK we teach the children how to care for their environment by incorporating a greener lifestyle in all that we do at school. The kindergarten tries to reuse, repair and recycle the materials that are used in the day care center. SFK recycles paper, cardboard, glass and biodegradable waste.
